The Reality of Trim & Molding
The molding and trim shown in our listing photos are rarely fully reclaimable. Because salvaging is a delicate process, you should expect to receive less than what is pictured.
Most retrofits will require you to source additional matching material to complete your project. Additionally, salvaged trim is not "plug-and-play"—plan on repairing, patching, and repainting these pieces to get them installation-ready. We'd rather you prepare for a project than be surprised by a shortage on delivery day.
Most wall finishes or paneling surrounding the cabinetry is not included. If you are interested or expecting a certain example ask your sales associate.
The Reality of Countertops
Countertops shown in our listings are provided as a complimentary inclusion only and are not guaranteed as part of the sale. Due to the high risk of cracking or breaking during disassembly and transport, countertops may not be available or usable at the time of delivery.
Please note that no claims, credits, or refunds will be issued if countertops are damaged or unavailable. Additionally, backsplash tile, wall stone, and related materials are never included in the purchase price. We strongly recommend planning your project with new countertops in mind; if the originals arrive intact, consider it a win.
The Reality of Cabinet Cut-outs
Please be aware that both showroom and pre-owned cabinetry will have pre-existing cut-outs. These openings for electrical, plumbing, and gas connections are commonly found on the backs, sides, and toe kicks of the units.
These cut-outs are a standard part of any previously installed kitchen and should be expected. Because every home's utility layout is different, you should plan for additional modifications or patching to accommodate your specific plumbing and electrical needs during re-installation.
The Reality of Painted Cabinetry
If a kitchen was custom-painted on-site, you must plan for a full repaint. Because these kitchens were painted over the joints after installation, the paint film is broken during the disassembly process. To achieve a finished look, these cabinets must be repainted in place once re-installed, exactly as they were during the original installation.
For all other pre-owned kitchens, please expect that touch-up painting and color matching will be required. We recommend budgeting for these finishing touches to ensure a seamless result in your new space.
The Reality of Appliance Accessories & Trim Kits
Manufacturer accessories, specialized mounting hardware, and decorative trim kits shown in listing photos are not guaranteed to be included. While these components are often part of a showroom display, they are frequently fitted to that specific installation and may not be available once the unit is removed.
Additionally, internal appliance accessories—such as milk containers, water pitchers, and specialized shelving—are often not included in the sale. You should plan to source these specific manufacturer parts or trim kits to fit your new layout. If you have questions about whether a specific component is included, please reach out to us before purchasing.
The Reality of Kitchen Package Appliances
Pre-owned appliances included in kitchen sets are maintained only to the previous homeowner's standards. These products are sold based on the homeowner's representation of condition; Aurora does not independently test these units. You should budget for a professional service call upon installation, as repairs or maintenance may be necessary. Showroom displays may also require service calls to ensure they are fully operational in a home setting. All appliances in these sets are discounted significantly to accommodate these potential service requirements.
The Reality of Stand-Alone Appliances
Warranties are only included on stand-alone products explicitly labeled as "Certified." For all other stand-alone units, Aurora offers a 30-day functional guarantee should the product require service or repair.
Please note that these products are sold based on our vendor's representation of condition. Aurora does not independently test these units. We recommend all customers plan for a professional inspection and service to ensure the appliance meets their needs.
The Reality of Kitchen Configuration & Fit
All kitchen components are sold strictly "as-is" regarding their configuration and fit. Please be aware that in showroom displays, components like sinks, cooktops, and appliances may be fitted into custom-cut openings that do not follow standard residential sizing.
It is the buyer's responsibility to verify that all components—including sinks and integrated appliances—properly fit the cabinetry provided. Aurora does not guarantee that showroom configurations are compatible with standard plumbing or electrical requirements. You should expect to make modifications, cabinet adjustments, or source new components to ensure a proper fit in your specific installation.
